Historisches Bild und Foto: Ehemalige Sophienkirche Dresden 1956 nach Sprengung des südlichen Turmhelms 1950. Die Sophienkirche war ein evangelischer Sakralbau unweit des Zwingers in Dresden. Die Luftangriffe auf Dresden 1945 beschädigten die Sophienkirche stark. Sie wurde bis 1963 abgetragen, trotz Protesten. Heute steht an gleicher Stelle die Gedenkstätte Busmannkapelle – Gedenkstätte für die Sophienkirche Dresden | Historical Image and Photography: Old bombed Sophienkirche Dresden. The Sophienkirche (Saint Sophia's Church) was the only gothic church in Dresden. It was located in the old town before it was severely damaged in the Dresden bombing in 1945 and subsequently destroyed in 1962 by the party and government of the GDR.
