Trümmerfrauen waren Frauen, die nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg in vielen deutschen und österreichischen Städten mithalfen, diese von den Trümmern der zerbombten Gebäude zu befreien. Sie waren neben professionellen Trümmerbeseitigern, Kriegsgefangenen und zwangsverpflichteten ehemaligen Nationalsozialisten eine Gruppe der Akteure in den Trümmerräumaktionen der Nachkriegszeit. | Historical Image and Photography: Trümmerfrauen (ruins woman or rubble woman) in Berlin. Women who, in the aftermath of World War II, helped clear and reconstruct the bombed cities of Germany. In the picture a women Kolonne (columns) listen to a man, that explain the working plan. In the Soviet Occupation Zone, the Nationales Aufbauwerk (National Reconstruction Works) was founded, in order to coordinate the efforts of the Trümmerfrauen. They clear and reconstruct the bombed cities.
