Description:
As early as 1909, a quay wall was built in Groß Neuendorf on the Oder. In the following decades, a loading crane and other loading cranes followed, and in 1940 the first loading tower. The second loading tower was built in 1953 by order of the VEAB Groß Neuendorf by the "Design Office for Structural and Industrial Engineering Chemnitz of the Ministry of Construction" as a "tower for pneumatic ship and wagon loading and unloading". Transshipment took place on wagons of the Oderbruch railway until 1971, then on lorries. In 1973, railway operations were discontinued. A third loading crane was completed in 1982. Since 2003, the facilities of the port of Groß Neuendorf have been used for tourist purposes. .
