Während der kommunistischen Herrschaft in Bulgarien (1944-1989) diente die Moschee als Museum. | Historical Image from the Sherif Halil Pasha Mosque, (Turkish: Tombul Camii), or Tombul, Tumbul Mosque, located in the bulgaria town Shumen. It is is the largest mosque in Bulgaria and among the largest on the Balkans. The main edifice is in its fundamental part a square, then becomes an octagon passing to a circle in the middle part, and is topped by a spherical dome that is 25 m above ground. The image shows the mosque in the background and a small bridge where a woman sit in the foreground.
