The game got off to a dramatic start with a long kickoff return by Amani Dennis and an injury to Fire kicker Sebastian van Santen. The Vikings scored an early touchdown on a pass from Ben Holmes to Noah Touré. Both teams struggled offensively in the first half and the score was 0:6 at the break. After the break, a spectacular 68-yard touchdown pass from Chad Jeffries to Rory Starkey Jr. brought back hope for the Fire.
