The 2024 UEC Road European Championships took place from September 11 to 15 in Limburg, Belgium. This 30th edition featured 14 events, including road races, time trials, and mixed relays across Elite, Under-23, and Junior categories. ​
Belgium’s Tim Merlier secured the Elite Men’s Road Race title, completing the 222.8 km course in 4 hours, 37 minutes, and 9 seconds. He edged out the Netherlands’ Olav Kooij and Estonia’s Madis Mihkels, who took silver and bronze, respectively. ​
The Elite Women’s Road Race saw the Netherlands’ Lorena Wiebes triumph in a mass sprint finish, covering the 162 km distance in 3 hours, 56 minutes, and 34 seconds. Italy’s Elisa Balsamo secured silver, while Poland’s Daria Pikulik earned bronze. ​
In the individual time trials, Italy’s Edoardo Affini emerged victorious in the Elite Men’s category, clocking 35 minutes and 15 seconds over the 31.2 km course. Belgium’s Lotte Kopecky dominated the Elite Women’s time trial, finishing in 39 minutes flat. ​
The Mixed Team Relay event highlighted Italy’s strength, as their team secured gold with a time of 1 hour, 1 minute, and 43 seconds. Germany followed for silver, and Belgium completed the podium with bronze. ​
Under-23 and Junior Categories:
The championships also showcased emerging talents. In the Under-23 Men’s Road Race, the Netherlands’ Huub Artz claimed gold, while van Rooijen Sofie won the Road Race Women U23 and Finland’s Anniina Ahtosalo won the Under-23 Women’s Time Trial. The Junior categories saw impressive performances, with notable victories in both time trials and road races. ​
