Photos from the first round of the UCI Track Champions League 2023 on 21 October 2023 at the Illes Balears Velòdrom in Palma de Mallorca (Spain). The UCI Track Champions League is an inter-seasonal track cycling competition held in autumn and winter in four rounds at different venues / velodromes in Europe. The competition consists of two categories: Endurance and Sprint events, for each of which an overall title is awarded at the end of the series. The endurance events consist of an elimination race and a scratch race, while the sprint events consist of the keirin and the individual sprint.
Top performers UCI Track Champions League Round 1 Mallorca: Harrie Lavreysen from the Netherlands, Alessa-Catriona Pröpster from Germany, Eiya Hashimoto from Japan and Katie Archibald from Great Britain took first place in the blue jerseys.
Winners UCI Track Champions League Round 1 Mallorca: Lavreysen won both the sprint and the men’s keirin. Archibald finished second in the women’s scratch and later triumphed in the elimination. Pröpster, Ellesse Andrews of New Zealand and Hashimoto each won the women’s sprint, the men’s keirin and the scratch. Lily Williams from the USA and Dylan Bibic from Canada also celebrated victories in the women’s scratch and the men’s elimination.
