Despite a battling performance with few scoring chances on both sides, SGS at least secured a point and thus remain in sixth place in the table for the time being. The first half was characterised by solid defensive work and little tempo, with midfield skirmishes and ball losses dominating the game. Both teams upped the tempo in the second half. Leverkusen pressed initially, but were unable to get past SGS goalkeeper Sophia Winkler. Kassandra Potsi later brought a breath of fresh air into the SGS game, but the best chance came after a corner that Annika Enderle was unable to convert at the second post.
